IVI at the Global AI Meeting “GPAI Innovation Workshop 2024” in Paris

The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) organized the “GPAI Innovation Workshop 2024”, bringing together over a hundred international experts to discuss key AI issues, including AI safety, democratization of AI resources, environmental protection, and sustainable agriculture. Dr. Branka Rakić, Assistant Director for Biotechnology at IVI, participated in this significant event.

The French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (Inria) and the Montreal International Center of Expertise in Artificial Intelligence (CEIMIA) organized workshops where global experts discussed complex challenges and presented concrete projects and inspirational examples.

The Paris event aimed to prepare for the AI Summit, fostering dialogue between member states and experts to identify how AI can help solve challenges faced by the members, jointly design projects to achieve their goals, and establish a regular communication channel between members and experts.

During the workshops, participants shared multidisciplinary research and discussed key issues among AI professionals. The goal of these meetings was to propose concrete projects addressing major global challenges such as AI safety, reducing social inequalities, accelerating positive environmental actions, and transforming the agricultural landscape in a profitable and sustainable manner.

GPAI is the leading international platform for AI collaboration, launched in 2020 to bridge the gap between AI theory and practice by supporting top-tier research and applied activities.

IVI’s participation in these workshops underscores our commitment to advancing artificial intelligence and contributing to global initiatives focused on its safe, fair, and sustainable development.
