The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia participated in the prestigious international conference AI_4_LIFE: BioTech Future Forum 2024, held in Belgrade. The conference topics included national strategies for the development and application of artificial intelligence and its impact on healthcare, agriculture, and environmental protection. Special emphasis was placed on big data processing, genetic innovations, and new opportunities in the healthcare system, which increasingly rely on biotechnology and artificial intelligence.
At the panel “Screening for Breakthroughs: The Power of Genetic Data” Dr. Ivan Tanasijević, head of the Belgrade office of IVI and research associate, discussed the key challenges and potentials that genetic data bring to modern medical research. Dr. Tanasijević provided an in-depth presentation on how advanced AI technologies enable deeper analysis of large genetic datasets, leading to early disease detection and personalized therapies.
The panel “Transforming Healthcare: Advancing Medicine for Tomorrow” was moderated by Dr. Branka Rakić, Deputy Director for Biotechnology at IVI, during which the discussion focused on the latest technological advancements with the potential to transform the healthcare industry, including the application of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, treatments, and personalized medicine. The panel highlighted the importance of collaboration between researchers, medical professionals, and technology companies in creating innovative solutions that not only improve the efficiency of medical procedures but also enhance patients’ quality of life.
The third international conference AI_4_LIFE: Biotech Future Forum 2024, organized by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, the Office for IT and eGovernment, the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the World Economic Forum, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with support from the BIO4 Campus, gathered over 1,000 participants from more than 15 countries, along with 66 international speakers – representatives from governments, academia, scientists, research institutions, and industry.
The AI_4_LIFE: Biotech Future Forum 2024 conference provided an opportunity for networking and collaboration with leading experts from around the world, further strengthening the research potential and reputation of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia. It offered a unique platform for showcasing innovations, sharing knowledge, and discussing future directions in the field of artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
