The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia presented its vision for the future of the welding industry at the inaugural conference of the “Advancing Welding Innovations Through Artificial Intelligence (AI-WELD)” project. This cross-border project, conducted in collaboration with the Center of Competence for Advanced Engineering in Nova Gradiška as the lead partner, brings together experts from Serbia and Croatia to develop innovative solutions that combine advanced technologies such as visual recognition, robotic control, and welding parameter optimization.
During the conference, Dr. Dragiša Mišković, Assistant Director for Cooperation with Industry, addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence in modernizing the welding industry. Dr. Mišković emphasized that the use of AI technologies is crucial for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the quality of welding processes. Through automation and precise control, AI enables faster and more reliable operations, significantly reducing human error and increasing overall productivity in the industry.
Dr. Mišković also noted that the AI-WELD project not only brings new technological solutions but also fosters cross-border cooperation between Serbia and Croatia, enabling the exchange of knowledge and experience between academia, industry, and research centers.
The AI-WELD project is co-financed by the European Union, and through it, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia aims to contribute to global innovations, set new standards in industrial practices, and support the broader application of artificial intelligence across various industrial sectors.
