Our researchers Gorana Gojic and Ilija Tanaskovic participated in the 4th AtheroNET meeting held at the Faculty of Medicine and the INCLIVA Biomedical Research Institute, University of Valencia. The event was organized under the COST Action: CA21153 – Network for Implementing Multiomics Approaches in Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Research.
Research assistant Gorana Gojic presented a report on her STSM visit to the Technical University of Munich in 2023 during the Young Researchers Session. Her research focused on domain adaptation in coronary artery segmentation from XCAD images (Domain Adaptation for Coronary Artery Segmentation from XCA images).
Junior research assistant Ilija Tanaskovic presented a poster titled “Unravelling the Gene Signature of Heart Failure: A Machine Learning Approach”, co-authored with Dr. Branko Rakić. The poster’s concept is the development of a methodology that combines artificial intelligence and traditional bioinformatics to identify the gene signature of heart failure patients compared to healthy individuals. Additionally, the same methodology was used to determine genetic signatures for ischemic cardiomyopathy and dilated cardiomyopathy as two subgroups of heart failure.
This event provided our researchers with the opportunity to present their latest work, exchange ideas, and establish new collaborations with colleagues from different parts of Europe.
