As part of the first UK-Serbia Technology Trade Mission held in Novi Sad, a panel discussion titled “AI Rising: Implications for Competition and Regulation” brought together experts from Serbia and the United Kingdom in the fields of technology, innovation, and law to explore key questions related to the impact of artificial intelligence on competition and regulatory frameworks.
The discussion focused on the challenges modern companies face: how to adapt business models to fully leverage the value of AI without compromising sustainability and profitability?
Milana Vitas, Senior Patent Engineer, participated in the panel discussion, representing the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia and contributing to this important event. In her remarks, Vitas addressed how artificial intelligence is reshaping innovation processes, influencing business strategy development, and raising new questions around intellectual property and technology protection.
Given that trade between Serbia and the United Kingdom exceeds £1.1 billion and continues to grow steadily, this event marks an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation in advanced technologies.
The Institute remains committed to fostering dialogue on the responsible use of artificial intelligence and to actively participating in shaping policies that accompany technological transformation—both nationally and internationally.
