IVI at the Forum of Advanced Technologies in STP Niš

At the 9th Forum of Advanced Technologies held at the Science and Technology Park in Niš, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia actively participated in two program segments dedicated to the development of innovation ecosystems and the practical application of artificial intelligence.

As part of the panel “Building the BIO4 Ecosystem”, Dr. Branka Rakić, head of the “AI in Healthcare & Lifescience” research group, spoke about the role of artificial intelligence in the new generation of interdisciplinary solutions at the intersection of biotechnology, advanced sciences, and digital technologies. The discussion focused on key aspects of the development of the BIO4 campus – from scientific and institutional foundations, to cross-sector collaboration in deep tech and life sciences, to concrete steps in building a sustainable research and innovation infrastructure.

Our research associates from the “Green AI” group, Dr. Milan Stojković and Dr. Jelena Mitić, also took part in the fireside chat “AI for SMEs: From Vision to Practice”, where they discussed the practical application of artificial intelligence in the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector. The conversation focused on the challenges, opportunities, and necessary steps for more effective integration of AI technologies into the day-to-day operations of SMEs.

This year’s Forum of Advanced Technologies brought together over 150 speakers and more than 1,000 participants, across 10 thematic zones and over 70 sessions. The most prominent topics included artificial intelligence, biotechnology, Industry 5.0, and support for the startup ecosystem.

By taking part in this event, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia once again reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the national innovation system through collaboration with key stakeholders from science, industry, and the public sector.
