Strengthening AI Ties Between Serbia and Italy

The first joint workshop between the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) was held at the Institute of Information Science and Technologies “A. Faedo” (CNR-ISTI) in Pisa.

This event marks an important step in deepening scientific collaboration between the two countries in the field of artificial intelligence. It was organized as a continuation of the partnership established through the Memorandum of Understanding signed between IVI and CNR in 2023. The goal of the workshop was to facilitate knowledge exchange, share experiences, and lay the groundwork for future joint research projects.

The workshop brought together researchers and institutional representatives from both Serbia and Italy, who presented ongoing research and project initiatives through a series of presentations and discussions. Key topics included advanced technologies for audiovisual content retrieval, the application of AI in environmental protection, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, as well as natural language processing and linguistics.

This workshop represents the beginning of a deeper connection between the scientific communities of the two countries in the field of AI, with the aim of building a foundation for long-term collaboration, researcher exchange, and the development of joint European projects. The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia remains committed to fostering international partnerships and strengthening the presence of the Serbian scientific community on the global stage.
