The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia participated in the regional IT conference ISCon 2025, held in Banja Luka. As part of the session titled “From Pixels to Prevention: Machine Learning in Energy,” IVI Research Associate Dr. Slobodan Ilić presented an innovative approach to applying artificial intelligence in the energy sector.
The talk focused on the use of machine learning to improve the maintenance of critical infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on power line inspection supported by drones and advanced technologies such as thermal and multispectral imaging and LiDAR scanning. By analyzing data collected from various sources and applying sophisticated algorithms, it becomes possible to automatically detect damage and identify high-risk areas, significantly increasing operational efficiency and reducing costs.
ISCon 2025 brought together leading domestic and international IT experts. This year’s conference placed a special focus on future technologies expected to shape the coming decade – from programming, gaming, and 3D modeling, to cybersecurity, digital transformation, and the industrial application of artificial intelligence.
The participation of IVI representatives at such events highlights the importance of scientific research in developing concrete, applicable solutions to the challenges of modern society.
