IVI at BioTech Future Forum 2025: Harnessing AI for Innovative Medical Devices

The team lead of the research group “AI in Healthcare & Lifescience” Dr. Branka Rakić, participated in the BioTech Future Forum 2025, where she moderated the panel titled “Modeling Life with AI Innovative Medical Devices”.

Panel speakers included:

  • Diego Stone, CEO, Qnity, Brasil;
  • Marko Grujić, CTO and Co-Founder, Neuroblast, Serbia;
  • Giannis Anastasiadis, VP of Design and User Research, Huma, UK;
  • Željko Mladenović, Director of Software Engineering & Software Architect, HistoSonics, USA.

During the discussion, the panelists explored the application of artificial intelligence in modeling biological systems, accelerating the development of new therapies, and optimizing the design of medical devices. Special emphasis was placed on international collaboration and an interdisciplinary approach as key drivers of modern biotechnological innovation.

The fourth edition of the AI_4_LIFE: BioTech Future Forum focused on the concept of modeling in biotechnology—from drug discovery and clinical trials, through personalized medicine, to new investment strategies in biotechnological innovation. The forum also examined how smart models and artificial intelligence are shaping healthcare and everyday life, highlighting the predictive power of these technologies in creating a healthier and smarter future.

The event brought together more than 1,000 participants, including representatives from academia, the scientific community, industry, startups, medical professionals, investors, and policymakers. It provided a significant platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and innovations in the fields of biotechnology and digital health.

The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia continues to actively support and advance the application of AI in healthcare, while also positioning Serbia as a regional hub for biotechnological innovation and digital medicine.
