An Italian research team from the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche visited Novi Sad for the second time, where they continued their work with the team at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia on the DeepMicroCore project, focused on applying artificial intelligence to uncover the core structure of the microbiome.
During this visit, the collaboration was further strengthened, with efforts directed towards developing and fine-tuning advanced deep learning models that enable more precise predictions of microbiome origins based on species, time, and location. The research aims to identify key microorganisms and define their shared “core” across different types of samples using state-of-the-art AI techniques.
The renewed visit of the Italian scientists to the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia reinforces the strong partnership between the research teams and represents a significant step forward in advancing the study of microbiomes through cutting-edge AI technologies.
