Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia Supports the 11th PSIML Summer School

The 11th PSIML – Summer School on Scientific Machine Learning has successfully concluded. This international summer school is dedicated to machine learning and the latest areas of artificial intelligence.

The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia supported this year’s PSIML Summer School and contributed to its programme. Luka Panić, a junior research assistant at the Institute, joined lecturers from leading international companies, research institutions, and universities in sharing knowledge and expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning with the participants.

The programme was structured into four main parts: five days of core lectures and training, a dedicated team-building day, five days of project work, and a final day during which participants presented the results of their work.

During the instructional part of the programme, participants had the opportunity to develop and expand their knowledge of the fundamentals of machine learning and neural networks, large language models — from basic principles to advanced training — and agentic systems. The programme also covered computer vision, including 2D, 3D, and generative methods, as well as speech and audio processing, embodied AI, and physical AI.

A key part of the Summer School was its hands-on project work. Over five days, participants developed their own projects with the support of mentors and access to GPU resources. On the final day, they presented their projects to the other participants and lecturers.

This year’s programme brought together lecturers and experts working on the development of cutting-edge AI technologies at leading international companies, research institutes, and universities, including Tenstorrent, Microsoft, ETH Zurich, INSAIT, Everseen, OQU AI, Yandex, Hexagon, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia, and the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Belgrade.

Supporting events such as PSIML is part of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia’s commitment to contributing to the development of the AI community, promoting knowledge exchange, and supporting the education of the next generation of researchers and AI professionals.
