From Pixels to Diagnosis: How Artificial Intelligence Is Advancing Mammography?

Researchers from the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia had the honor of participating as guest lecturers in the Microsoft Garage Serbia program, an innovation hub dedicated to development, research, and knowledge sharing in the field of advanced technologies.

Dr. Vanja Švenda, research associate, and Nikola Jovišić, junior researcher, led a Master Class and interactive workshop titled “From Pixels to Diagnosis: How Artificial Intelligence Is Advancing Mammography”. The session highlighted the Institute’s research in developing AI solutions that support early detection of breast cancer, enhance diagnostic accuracy and speed, and provide meaningful assistance to radiologists in clinical practice.

Through real-world examples and models currently in development, participants had the opportunity to explore how AI is transforming the future of healthcare—making medical services more humane, efficient, and accessible.
